6” x 6”

Acrylic on canvas

A whole new process for me. No paintbrushes at all. Just palette knives moving the paint across the canvas. Pushing and pulling and trying to create something without trying too hard. With these works I am constantly chasing “the flow” and attempting to just let things happen…and then suddenly there’s a jawline or an eye socket and then you push just a bit further and sometimes you push too far. So, you walk away and then you come back and go for it again. And then an Oddball shows up and says “I’m done, walk away, leave it alone.” And that’s how it goes. The paintings actually talk. I wish you could be here to hear ‘em. It’s weird.

Disclaimer: Paintings do not actually talk…or do they?
